Pet Retailer
Retailer secures national headquarters with Alarm.com for Business Access Control, Video, and Intrusion

About the Company
This multi-brand retailer of affordable fashion has 750 stores in Canada and the United States. Its products are sold through ten separate clothing lines aimed at different segments of the youth, teen, and young adult fashion markets. Thousands of employees work in its stores, which are usually located within malls and shopping centers.
Working from the corporate headquarters in Toronto, the Loss Prevention team currently uses Alarm.com’s intrusion technology to monitor retail stores.
The Challenge
The retailer’s legacy system was decentralized and unwieldy, with administration performed by each retail store. Store managers were sometimes forgetting to arm systems at night, and it was difficult for the Loss Prevention team to control the issue—or to see and address other system problems such as malfunctioning sensors and incorrect arming schedules. The result was a security system that wasn't actually secure and exposed the team to retail theft while creating a lack of confidence in the overall system.
Why Alarm.com for Business:
A single, unified platform for all security needs
Alarm.com for Business’s cloud-based platform allows for easy monitoring of access control, video, and intrusion at the corporate headquarters, as well as the stores using Alarm.com’s intrusion technology. Using Alarm.com’s Enterprise Dashboard, the retailer’s Loss Prevention team can check on multiple locations simultaneously. They can easily group locations by region, organize them into a top-down hierarchy, or focus on a single site.

Better monitoring increases staff compliance
On Alarm.com’s platform, it only takes a few seconds to change an alarm code. In addition, Alarm.com’s bulk loading function allows the company to add multiple access control cards at once—accelerating the process of employee onboarding. Alarm.com’s platform also allows users to implement sophisticated, hierarchical rules governing employee access, making it easy to grant access to groups of employees based on their corporate roles or to target specific areas of buildings.
“Having to call in to make alarm code changes is very time-consuming. Being able to just jump into the Alarm.com platform and make those changes within seconds makes our lives a lot easier.”

“Training was very easy for me. The platform is seamless and user-friendly, and it’s simple to train additional team members.”

Expanding on the Alarm.com for Business Platform
In the future, the company is looking forward to incorporating Alarm.com for Business’s Fleet Management technology within its distribution center networks and in between stores. The cloud-based Connected Fleet
solution gives companies a real-time look at maintenance needs and driver behavior as well as location tracking.
“The Fleet Management tools offered by Alarm.com would be very helpful. We currently use just GPS tracking for our company vehicles.”
