Alarm.com and Verizon Launch Voice Over LTE for Enhanced Smart Home Security

VIENNA Va., Oct. 21, 2015 -- Alarm.com (Nasdaq:ALRM), the leading platform for the smart home, and Verizon (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) today announced the availability of a significant enhancement to home security communications enabled by America's largest and most reliable 4G LTE network. Alarm.com is now the first to offer Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) for smart home security in the U.S., enabling direct communications from central stations into the home during an emergency over Verizon's 4G LTE Network. With hands-free two-way voice communications, homeowners can quickly provide critical information to security professionals and know that emergency services are on the way when they need them most.

Verizon and Alarm.com introduced enhanced security and home automation services in 2014 with the delivery of the first LTE-enabled connection for smart home services. With the speed and capacity of Verizon's 4G LTE Network, Alarm.com can deliver the next generation of smart home security services and significantly extended network life.

"Our work with Alarm.com underscores why collaboration is so important to broaden adoption for Internet of things-enabled technologies," said Mark Bartolomeo, vice president IoT Connected Solutions at Verizon. "Integrating VoLTE is not only a great milestone, but will make securing the home and getting help when it's most needed even more seamless for consumers."

Alarm.com's dedicated cellular connection offers better home security because it isn't susceptible to tampering such as line cuts, and it functions even during a power outage. Unlike other services that piggyback on broadband or rely on home networking components like Wi-Fi routers, Alarm.com uses a dedicated cellular connection to ensure highly reliable and secure communications. With Verizon 4G LTE's super-fast connection, robust capacity and best in class network life, homeowners can depend on Alarm.com for state of the art security and protection.

"We value our ongoing partnership with Verizon and look forward to continued innovation to lead the industry in secure cellular communications," said Daniel Ramos, Alarm.com's Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. "With the acceleration of security system communication upgrades, our service providers can offer a cellular option with best-in-class network life and a complete range of security features."
