When you choose to upload any content including text or photos we may record, store, view, process and provide this content to trained agents and emergency responders. You should not provide any sensitive information in the Notes, including health information that you do not consent to be disclosed, which is not required to use the Safety Button.

Yes, you can designate emergency contacts in your profile. If your alert is confirmed, dispatchers will share their details with first responders to keep your loved ones informed.

Your emergency contact’s information will be shared with first responders by trained agents if the event is verified, but protocols may vary by situation and at the discretion of emergency services.

Absolutely—with the Quick-Access widget, you can summon help from your phone’s home screen, making it easy to use the feature quickly and without drawing attention.

Setup is easy—simply tap “Get Started” in the Alarm.com app to add your phone number, create a PIN, and grant location access. To add a Note, tap on Notes in the Safety Button section of the app, then tap on the “+” sign, enter the note, and tap Create. For Emergency Contacts, go to the Safety Button section of the app, tap the settings icon, Emergency Contacts and then Add Contact. From there, you can add a new or existing contact and hit submit.

If triggered by mistake, you can cancel the event during the 10-second countdown by entering your PIN. If not canceled, operators will attempt to contact you to confirm if assistance is needed.

If your phone is turned off or damaged during the 10-second cancellation window, your most recent location is still sent to operators so they can process your request and dispatch help.
